A 29-year-old driver from Gombe State, Mallam Suleiman Rabiu, recently completed a 700km trek from Gombe to Abuja as a heartfelt gesture of appreciation for the exemplary leadership of Chief of Defence Staff, General Christopher Gwabin Musa.

Suleiman, who embarked on his journey on February 12, 2024, reached Abuja on February 28, 2024, enduring 16 days of challenging weather conditions to express gratitude for the positive impact General CG Musa has had on security and the overall well-being of the nation.

The spirited young man commended General Musa for the significant improvement in the security of lives and property since assuming office, attributing it to the people-centric philosophy of the Chief of Defence Staff. He highlighted that this philosophy inspired him to identify with the Armed Forces Chief and embark on this commendable trek.

Suleiman emphasized that his journey stands as a testimony to the enhanced security enjoyed across the country. He noted that such a trek would have been nearly impossible in the past due to insecurity in the North East.

Upon his arrival in Abuja, Mallam Rabiu was warmly received by Acting Director, Defence Information, Brigadier General Tukur Gusau, alongside Major Nneka Olima from Defence Headquarters Provost, and Alhaji Hashim Hussaini, Special Assistant to the CDS. General Gusau expressed gratitude for Suleiman's support and assured him of the continued dedication of Chief of Defence Staff and the Armed Forces to ensuring maximum security in the country.

General Gusau reiterated that General Musa's leadership is people-centric, committed to defending democratic principles, and supporting the sustained realization of the President's Renewed Hope agenda for the country.
